Asher was rescued from a puppy mill. He was no longer viable as a breeder and so these kinds of businesses either abandon or euthanize them.

Cats are often abandoned on college campuses. Students house these animals while they attend the college and simply leave them when they leave the college. Sometimes people in the community will also dump animals there.

Some animals are purchased or adopted with no plan on how to house them. This was the case for Noki.

Snoopy was found on a isolated rural road, an apparent stray

Cassidy was found as a stray with a terribly injured front leg. He was rescue and given a new chance as a tri-paw.

Fuzzy lived as a feral street cat for nearly 11 years before she was rescued.

Eby, an African Grey parrot, was brought to the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary when his family could no longer care for him. He was adopted by Marlene more than 10 years ago.

Angel the cockapoo was turned in to a
You've Got A Friend - rescued cockapoo (standing).
Gus was a reject from a greyhound race track. Many greyhounds are euthanized when they are not fast enough to race.

RJ was part of an entire litter of kittens who were left on the doorstep of a veterinary clinic in California at 4 in the morning on a cold winter's day. He was about 4 weeks old.
RJ's Drink - Abandoned at four weeks of age.
Possum's mother was a feral unspayed female who continued to have kittens long after she contracted a disease that causes birth defects. Possum was the only kitten to survive this particular birth. She had a condition known as “Wobbly Cat”.
Possum - rescued with birth defects that were fully preventable.
